PANAMA CITY — Fueled by a love for his Palestinian heritage and drive for success, Taste the World owner and head cook Saleh Nofal is challenging customers — who affectionally call him “Sal” — to embrace his Mediterranean cuisine.

“I challenge any customer from any country to eat my food and they will like it. ... I’ve had no complaints since I opened,” said Nofal, who even displays a satisfaction guarantee on the wall with his cell phone number. “I do everything fresh every day. ... I buy smaller things and cook what I am going to sell. So most of the time at 8 o’clock I am marking everything 50 percent off to get everything out of here. And then the next morning, I’m here prepping fresh vegetables. ... I work seven days a week, open to close every day. I’m the head cook, chef, manager and owner.”
